New Town Builders Green Energy Expo At Denver Academy on May 15, 9 a.m. – noon Open to all middle-school and high-school students affiliated with the Association of Colorado Independent Schools. $6,750 in prizes PLUS top three juniors receive energy-focused internships with New Town Builders, with input into opening of new models in new section of Stapleton. Prizes awarded in three categories for each of four age groups.

Innovation $750 toward school’s science dept. Research $500 toward school’s science dept. 7th-8th Grade Grand Prize Trophy Innovation Trophy Research Trophy Prizes will be awarded based on the following criteria:
Genuine scientific breakthroughs * Interpreting data correctly * Discovering knowledge not readily available to students * Connection to “green” energy or energy efficiency * Application to the “real world * Ability to explain the project and results. Every middle school and high school in the area is invited to send up to 10 representatives to compete in the New Town Builders Green Energy Expo. Schools can determine the representatives any way they choose, including via an internal “preliminary” competition. Exhibitors are encouraged to focus on any topic relating to “green” energy, including but not limited to solar power, energy efficiency, thermal power, heat pump technology, and building science such as insulation and smart electric power use.
